Sandy Novak works with teens, adults, couples and families in her therapy practice. She is a licensed professional counselor and psychotherapist in Boulder, Colorado specializing in body-centered therapies for the past 18 years. She has been a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner for 16 years and is a Satir Model trainer. She holds masters degrees in counseling psychology and education and a certificate in family therapy as well as extensive other trainings, including Modules I & II of the International Satir Training Institute. She has trained in the BODYnamic system of psychomotoric developmental psychotherapy and integrates this system with SE.
A member of the Boulder Psychotherapists' Guild, Sandy practices both Transformational Therapy and Satir-based therapies.

Sandy helps the partner and families of trauma survivors understand and support the survivor through their recovery process in the family therapy setting as well as guiding the survivor through their own healing.
A founder of the Boulder-based Satir Institute of the Rockies and a leading practitioner of the Satir Model, Sandy also teaches graduate students who aspire to become psychotherapists at Naropa University and in The People's Republic of China. She trains therapists in the Satir Model of family therapy and offers case consultation groups in that model. She is a faculty member of The Satir Global Network, the International Satir Family Therapy Network and has taught Satir in Eastern Europe, Hong Kong, The People' Republic of China and North America. She presented a professional paper on the effects of trauma on a child's development at an Oxford University Round Table in July, 2005.
She has served on the Red Cross National Disaster Mental Health team in New Jersey after 9/11 helping families who lost loved ones.
