Sandy's Newest Projects
Raising Emotionally Healthy
Children Through the Satir Model: Sandy has been
teaching this four day workshop in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen,
China three times a year to enthusiastic parents and professional
counselors. She teaches for the Satir Institute of
China and other training companies that are bringing personal
growth and professional training to the Chinese
people. The work is challenging, the people are so
respectful and appreciative, and the cultural differences are
stimulating. Sandy repeatedly says, "I am truly blessed to have this opportunity to
work so closely with the Chinese people."
She will be offering this workshop in Boulder in the fall of
2009.
How to Grow A Happy, Intimate Marriage Through
the Satir Model: This new workshop was launched in
Beijing in April, 2009 at the Satir Centre there. The
group laughed, cried, and shared together as they explored
themselves and the nature of intimate relationships, honing their
skills and understanding of what an congruent and close
relationship requires. Both couples and singles
attended and we were happy to have a third of the group be
men. The course will continue to be offered in Beijing
and Shanghai this fall.
Newest Writing Projects:: Sandy
co-chairs a committee that recently published In Her Own Words,
Virginia Satir: 1963-1983, available through Zeig, Tucker, and
Theissen. Their next book will be on
Satir's vision for the evolution of human
consciousness through congruence and healthy relating.
Sandy has been approached by a producer in China to author a series
of books on parenting and a series of self esteem meditation
CDs.
Level Two of the Satir
Transformational Systemic Therapy Training will take place in
Boulder for the first time in November, 2009-February
2010. Sandy will co-teach this new level of training
with guest faculty, Dr. John Banmen of Vancouver, BC. and Gloria
Taylor of Kitchener, ON. Completion of Level One is
required to participate.
Enhancing Couples Relationships:
Sandy was invited to present a training on couples enrichment at
The 20th Annual World Family Conference in Prague, CZ in May,
2007. The conference was co-sponsored by the
International Family Therapy Association and Avanta, the Satir
Global Network. 350 people from 38 countries
attended.
Somatic Experiencing Training: Over
the past several years Sandy has been assisting Dr.Diane Poole
Heller at the Somatic Experiencing trainings held in Boulder,
Colorado. SE is a trauma resolution therapy that was
developed by Dr. Peter Levine. The Beginning and
Intermediate levels are offered locally.
Satir Training in Boulder: This
year Sandy trained 14 therapists from the Front Range
over 10 days in Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy through the
Satir Institute of the Rockies. Some of the students
were active therapists in the Boulder/Denver area while others were
completing their masters degrees in counseling psychology at four
different universities. This ten day training is

Couples Therapy Training: in
Shanghai In January, 2008, Sandy assisted
Dr. John Banmen in his five day therapist training for the Satir
Institute of China. 45 professionals in Shanghai are
training in STST with Dr. Banmen.
Building Relationships Workshop: in
Shanghai In January, 2008, Sandy co-taught a four day
workshop for the public on enhancing relationships with oneself and
others for Human Resources Inc.

How to Grow Your Intimate Relationship Using
The Satir Growth Model: Sandy was invited to be a
presenter at this year's annual conference of The Virginia Satir
Global Network in Denver. She will be on the program
along with master therapists like John Banmen, Jeff Zeig, Jean
Houston, Maria Gomori, and Jean McLendon. More info at

Energy Psychology Think Tank for Healing
Addictions: Sandy was invited to participate in a
cutting edge "think tank" that plans to integrate psychotherapy and
energy treatment modalities to develop a successful model for the
treatment of addictions. On this team Sandy represents
both treatment modalities, STST and SE.
The group will meet twice this year, coming together from around
North America.
